July
2nd 2004 During his tour of Plas Teg, on the outskirts of Pontblyddyn, he will discuss the financial burden of running a large mansion with owner Cornelia Bayley. She has spent a small fortune restoring the 30-bedroom house, but has not received a penny from local councils towards the huge bill. 'Mr Tami is the first person of authority within the community who has expressed an interest in what I am trying to achieve here,' she said. 'I will be outlining the tremendous costs involved in maintaining a mansion like Plas Teg, not to mention the huge amount I have spent of my own money on restoring the fabric of the building.' The MP will be shown around the Grade I listed
building, which dates back to 1610, by volunteer guide Bert Proctor, who
is 88. Courtesy of the Flintshire
